Hidden Ninja Taiko, established three years ago, is Kansas City’s newest Kumi-Daiko Japanese taiko troupe. Despite its recent inception, our members possess decades of percussion experience from various cultures. We have undergone training with leading instructors in our field such as Kayoli Asano, Eri Uchida, and Kodo. Each practice session emphasizes the mind, spirit, and body necessary for improved taiko playing.

Our performances integrate the three connections: Koko (Here – the drum), Soko (There – the troupe members), and Asoko (Over there – the audience) to foster a shared experience.

At the Pagan Pride Picnic, we will combine elements from Chinese and Japanese Lions, Sato Island Oni Dance, and Kumi-daiko taiko to create a unique experience.
